Our first encounter with nature takes us to the tranquil Walvis Bay Lagoon. It’s a birdwatcher’s paradise, teeming with activity and dominated by the elegant, spindly silhouettes of Flamingos. From there, we venture past the Southern Hemisphere’s largest salt refinery to witness the surreal, rosy glow of the Pink Lakes—a must-see contrast against the desert sky.

As we transition to the shoreline, the real adventure kicks in. Driving along the beach toward Sandwich Harbour, keep your camera ready for the locals; we frequently spot Black Back Jackal, Oryx, Springbok, and Ostrich roaming the coastline. The highlight, however, is the breathtaking arrival at Sandwich Harbour itself. Here, the world’s oldest desert—the Namib—meets the crashing waves of the Atlantic Ocean in a spectacular collision of golden sands and deep blue water.

We’ll cap off the morning with an exhilarating dune drive, navigating massive crests for a once-in-a-lifetime thrill. Refreshing snacks and drinks are provided to keep you fueled throughout the trek.
